On August 10th, I will set out on my 5th Block Island Challenge -- a 20 mile open ocean SUP paddle from Montauk to Block Island to raise money for critical local organizations providing youth and family mental health resources on the East End.
Your donation of any amount goes to positively transform the lives of children -- I've seen the impact of our dollars. It's tremendous. From social and support services, to incredible academic enrichment, team-building and resiliency programming in and after school, there are so many reasons why I partake in this paddle.
As a board member, I visited the nonprofits and programs we fund, and I was left with a profound sense of pride and purpose: I have met kids inspired to grow food, to become civil rights lawyers and engineers: building robots at school late into the night with their classmates and high schoolers ever-changed by the experience of building schools in developing countries.
These kids will be the change we need to see in America's future - resilient, compassionate and capable.
