Description

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to not organize the Block Challenge this year. Good news though, we have a plan. We are rebranding the Block Island Challenge this year to CHALLENGE Yourself.

From now until August 29th, get out and paddle - Register Here and create your Fundraising Page with a goal of $1500. It does not exclude you from participating if the goal is not reached, but do your best. Ask your friends and family to support your efforts with donations so that we can continue to fund the mental health-focused causes that rely on all of us as well as the P4H Catastrophic Fund which has aided many individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, more than ever, these causes are providing much needed services to our community, and the funds you raise are vital to them. Our non-profit partners need our help more than ever.

After $250 is raised, we will send you the 2020 P4H gear to wear whenever you paddle. If possible, wear an old P4H shirt until new ones are received.

join our STRAVA club and track your miles.

Recommended routes for solo paddles and paddles with friends are listed below.

On August 29th - Several long distance paddles will be lead by P4H board members and support boats. Stay tuned for info on these options. Lars and Ed will paddle to Block Island to keep our 15-year tradition alive.

We will end the day on August 29th with a ZOOM party, announcing top fundraisers, sharing stories and celebrating our achievements. We will give awards for the following categories:

  • Most miles logged
  • Longest one day paddle
  • Most money raised
  • Best social media presence

Think of this as a year to build confidence on the water. Invite others to join you who may be intimidated by the Block Island Challenge. We will use this year to recruit, rebuild and recommit.
